THANK YOU

April 3, 2013

Dearest fans, thank you so much for all of your votes. We are absolutely honored that you chose us as the best new bakery in New York City for the 2013 Time Out Food & Drink Awards. It’s good feeling to know that you love our cookies so much. We’ll keep making them just for you!

Waaiiiitttttt for It…

March 4, 2013

You keep asking, and finally, FINALLY, we’re going to say yes.

That’s right. We’re going to give away all of our secrets. In fall 2014, that is.

It’s already been announced (see below), but we’ve signed a book deal with Harlequin. We can’t wait to get started and share our recipes with you.

Media Round Up

December 20, 2012

Due to Sandy/Thanksgiving/Christmas/general running-a-small-business madness, we haven’t been able to keep up with the press we’ve received over the past few months (or really writing anything here).

In case you were curious, we’ve had some pretty darn awesome reviews, accolades, awards, and more thrown our way. We feel honored and excited. Thank you for all of your support!

And now for your latest Ovenly reading list:

Business Insider: 50 Coolest New Businesses in America. Check out #32 (that’s us).

Flavorwire’s “Meet the Makers Leading Brooklyn’s Artisanal Boom” features Jen Causey’s favorite makers from her book of the same name. Buy it here. It’s purty.

Time Out Gives Us the Thumbs Up

October 21, 2012

It’s happened again. Ovenly was named to another “best of” list. This time, Time Out New York has named our Montego Bay Bar one of the city’s top 10 desserts of all of 2012. We couldn’t be more excited (and thanks, Mama Patinkin, for the inspiration for this wonderful recipe).

The bar is available ERRDAY at Ovenly. Have you tried it yet?

The Kitchn Visits Ovenly

September 3, 2012

We had the wonderful opportunity to spend a morning with The Kitchn on one of their “Makers Tours”. Check out the story to find out what Agatha would buy with $1,000,000 and which Ovenly cookie is Erin’s favorite.

Our Cookies. The Best. Again.

August 21, 2012

Time Out weighs in on the cookie debate and comes to the same conclusion as Eater. Conclusion is: Our peanut butter cookies are yummy. Big time yummy. Read all about it here.

Thank you for the accolades, folks. There is nothing that gives us more pleasure than seeing each and every one of your faces lighten up from a bite of our creamy, crunchy chocolate chip cookies, our herby and buttery black caraway chocolate shortbread, or our spicy and sweet mustard cookies. Come in soon to try something new.

Food & Drink Tour of Greenpoint

July 25, 2012

This came out a few weeks ago and we (blush) forgot to tell you about it. Even in its infancy, Gothamist chose Ovenly as one of the places one just hasto visit while in Greenpoint. We couldn’t agree more!

Click here for the whole tour.

Ovenly: Best of the Best (Says the Press)

July 11, 2012

Last week, as we took a little July 4th break and went upstate to be in nature and swim in hidden lakes, our phones alerted us to some big news: Ovenly was rated by the Village Voice as one of the top ten pastry shops in the city and Eater nominated our chocolate chip cookie as the #1 best new baked treat in New York.

We couldn’t be more excited.

Find the Village Voice article here and the Eater article here.

Occupy Wall Street with Caramel Corn

June 25, 2012

Our newest press is this wonderful write up from the Wall Street Journal. Erin grew up in Chicago and was addicted to Garrett’s as a kid, so owning a company listed alongside Garrett’s is a real honor.

The New York Times

May 24, 2012

When we dropped off samples to Florence Fabricant at the New York Times building, we didn’t know what to expect. It turns out, neither did she. We gladly fed her and she gladly gobbled up all the Ovenly she could. The aftermath is this very sweet article about our opening.

Sweets with a Side of Savory by Florence Fabricant for the New York Times.
