I had ordered the cake for my mom for Mother's DAy, but for some reason, it showed up on my doorstep. It didn't go to waste for sure!!!! My wife and I have been eating a little at a time, because it is very decadent and we can only consume a small sliver at a time! Great flavor and one of the densest cakes I have ever eaten!! would highly recommend!! Mmmmm.....
We're so happy you enjoyed our Brooklyn Blackout Cake! We see that the cake was delivered to the shipping address entered at checkout, but we'd love to connect with you in order to get a delivery set up for a belated Mother's Day gift! Please reach out to orders@oven.ly for further assistance.
I am really intrigued by Ebingers Blackout chocolate cakes. People are still talk about them 50 years after they closed. I bought several Brooklyn blackout cakes from NY. This was the best. I don’t like stout and almost did not order the cake since that is an ingredient. We could not taste the stout and I am glad we bought it. I’ll probably try some of Ovenlys other cakes. I think the caramel cake is next.
This cake was too good. I could eat it every day!
“It really is the absolute best chocolate cake I’ve ever had,” said everyone at the table eating this cake
Blackout cake tasted very dry and rather tasteless. Also the texture tasted as if the cake was a week old. Visually appealing but too pricey for what you get. Real bummer
We are so sorry to hear you were disappointed with our Brooklyn Blackout Cake!
It seems this could have been an issue with storage since the Brooklyn Blackout is a very flavorful and moist cake. All of our cakes are made to order then shipped promptly with UPS 2nd Day Air services. Our cakes remain fresh in the refrigerator for up to five days upon arrival, or up to thirty days when placed in the freezer. It's important to allow these cakes to sit and reach room temperature before serving. If you serve the cakes immediately from the refrigerator, it is likely the cake will be lacking in flavor and the texture will be harder than we intend for optimal serving. We recommend removing the cake from the refrigerator one to two hours before serving.
